It suddenly came to me, on 27 April 2001, that some sites have awards given to them. I'm not sure where the thought came from, but I suppose it was partly triggered by the realisation that there are some really bad sites out there - I was interested to see what professional web designers would make of mine. So I submitted my site to a few recognised award granting sites to see whether I would make the grade.
