General Links
In no particular order, these are a few sites which I've come across which are handy on a day to day sort of basis, rather than being relevant to any particular section as such. Search engines are always a good place to start when you're looking for something in particular or just after something random. Try Alta Vista, an old favourite of mine which now lets you search for images and such like in quite an intelligent way, and Google which is newer on the scene but getting itself a good reputation.
I've recently started using BlackStar for on-line video purchases. Excellent service, with regular updates and useful search engine. For books, CDs and such like try Amazon; never actually used them myself but their range is huge apparently. What else... ah, yes, interesting site I came across while house hunting the other day is UpMyStreet which provides useful statistics for a given area, plus links to telephone directory style sites for local services. Try the RailTrack site for train times if you dare. Wouldn't hold your breath waiting for one to turn up on time though. For virtual fun and games, try Wireplay . There are more links scattered through the Archipelago's pages so it might be worth hunting through other sections for random links as well, especially context relevant ones. For example, the Game Reviews section has quite a few links embedded in it.
