Guide 8: In case of emergency...

Guide 8: In case of emergency...

Occasionally the network does have a nervous breakdown, and if this
happens you may find yourself locked into a particular programme. As a
last resort pressing Ctrl, Alt and Delete at the same time and then
releasing will re-boot the machine. If you do this while you're logged
into Unix you may need to see the IT service afterwards if you have
problems with Pine after re-booting. If something is taking a long time
don't immediately re-boot; the system can get very slow when there are
many users logged on at the same time. Patience is a virtue, and all
that... (Note that if on trying to start the Novell system you get a Ram
Disk Error reported, re-booting should allow you to continue as normal
afterwards).
